The UC Men’s Octet is an eight member a cappella singing group comprised of students from the University of California at Berkeley . We have a wide repertoire , ranging from barbershop tunes and doo-wop to ’80′s pop and modern alternative. Every so often, you might even hear a group original. However, our main function since the group’s founding in 1948 has been to spread Cal spirit, doing our best to entertain all with a unique mesh of close harmonies and nutty stage antics.
The group has performed for audiences around the world, having toured the United States, Europe, Australia, Club Med, and most recently Shanghai, China. We have regular performances on campus and around the Bay Area for alumni groups and the public, culminating in our annual Spring Show. That having been said, our most important performances are held on Sproul Plaza each Wednesday at one o’clock in front of our greatest fans, the Cal students.
